New Every Morning

I was going to introduce you to a friend of mine, but I’ll just let Him introduce Himself.

    Beautiful!
When she was alive, my grandmother used to sing a morning song that began with your title phrase: “New every morning.” Later in her life, she and my mother would call each other early each morning and sing it together. On rare occasions, I got to join in, too. Thanks for putting that song in my head this morning!
“New every morning is the love our wakening and uprising prove; through sleep and darkness safely brought, restored to life, and power, and thought.”

  2. What a lovely memory and heritage, Barbara. Isn’t it amazing that music seems permanently imprinted on our souls?
