Melt my hard heart

FullSizeRender-003Melt my hard heart, Oh God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Why, of why, do I hold on
to what is beyond my control,
to what is too heavy to bear,
to what burdens and saps my strength?

Because I have become accustomed to it.
It has become my way.

Your ways are not our ways,
Nor our thoughts your thoughts.

Deny yourself, you say,
Not so you suffer, but so your heart is free, you say,
and with joy we will bear your cross together.

Why do we live crucified lives when the risen life is alive and well?

About wlebolt

Life comes at you fast. I like to catch it and toss it back. Or toss it up to see where it lands. I do my best thinking when I'm moving. And my best writing when I am tapping my foot to a beat no one else hears. Kinesthetic to the core.
