Learning doesn’t happen by spectation

Text, I can read.
Image, I can see.

By video, I can follow along.
But to learn, I must take part.

No one can stand in for me
in my interaction,
my operation,
my turn at my own helm.

Learning that lasts
begins where caution ends
and trust begins.

Trust
that whoever made me
an interactive device
created this game
in a way I could win it.

Oh Wendy, how wonderful! Trust is so difficult for some of us. Last night I was forced to surrender something. My adorable and adored granddaughter lost my favorite ring while playing. My fault for leaving it where she could get it. Searched most of the night before leaving at 3am. Spent the last hour there praying that God would release me from my attachment to a mere thing. I have worn it for many many years, though I have no memory of when or how I acquired it. It was my talisman of a higher power. Protecting me. Perhaps I had invested too much power in the symbol? Now it is gone, and I must look inside, look to God.
